Akron Area July 4th Volleyball
Details of the Scrambled 4's Sand tournament: Registration/check-in will be from 9:30 - 9:45 am. There will be a quick meeting to go over the tournament details at 9:50 am and play will start at 10 am. You can park in the State Street parking deck (just west of the corner of State and Main Street between Canal Park and Lock 3), there is no charge to park on the weekends. Take the parking garage steps down and head out to the courts located just behind the outside centerfield fence. Please bring chairs as there is nothing to sit on by the courts and sunscreen. Feel free to bring coolers and food and plenty of hydrating beverages. Your entry fee comes with a hot dog, chip, and soda lunch and there will be food and beverages for sale in the Ribfest. Everyone will receive a wristband to go into the Ribfest in addition to a free ticket to any other Lock 3 event. Depending upon the number of teams that we end up with, hopefully the tournament will be completed by 4 pm. What: Scrambled 4s (SAND) or Coed 3s (GRASS)
Where: Scrambled 4s at the NEW Sand Courts at Lock 3 Park in Downtown Akron (map it).
Coed 3s at Hardesty Park in Akron (map it).
When: July 4, 2009. Courts available at 9:30am, tournament starts promptly at 10:00am.
Cost: $15 per person. Each participant will receive a pass to any Lock 3 concert or event, including the Ribfest ($5 value). Hot dog, chips, and soda for lunch will also be provided.

Here is a map. I hope this helps. There is parking available on the streets but I'm not sure if you have to pay or not. If you do park on the street, there is an 'access road' right at S Main (close to State) that you can walk down to the courts. Do not park on the access road or under the bridge.
